Learning

Primary

Our Primary program is designed to build strong foundations in learning, wellbeing, and independence. Underpinned by the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0, we provide a structured, supportive environment where every student is known, valued, and challenged at their point of need.

Learning in the primary years focuses on the development of literacy and numeracy through explicit teaching, hands-on experiences, and meaningful real-world connections. Students are supported to develop communication skills using a range of methods, including speech, visuals, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), ensuring all learners can participate and express their thinking.

Our curriculum is intentionally flexible and responsive. Teachers use ongoing assessment to tailor learning experiences, provide targeted support, and celebrate individual progress. Alongside academic learning, we place a strong emphasis on respectful relationships, social skills and self-regulation.

Through engaging classroom programs and specialist learning opportunities, students are encouraged to explore, create, problem-solve, and develop confidence as learners. Our Primary program lays the groundwork for lifelong learning by fostering curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning.

Secondary

The Secondary program supports students to deepen their learning, develop independence, and prepare for life beyond school. Our curriculum is aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and is designed to be flexible, personalised, and relevant to students’ individual goals.

Learning focuses on literacy, numeracy, personal development, and real-world application. Students engage in explicit teaching, project-based learning, and practical experiences that support communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

In Years 11 and 12, students participate in ASDAN programs, which focus on life skills, employability, and personal development. ASDAN supports students to build confidence, independence, and readiness for post-school pathways, including further education, training, employment, and community participation. We will be looking to gain accreditation to deliver the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) in the future.

Across all secondary years, a strong emphasis is placed on wellbeing, self-advocacy, and independence, ensuring students are supported to make meaningful choices about their future.

Specialists

Our Specialist programs enrich student learning by providing opportunities to explore creativity, physical development, and practical life skills. Specialist learning includes Physical Education, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Media Arts, Music and Food Technology (secondary), delivered in engaging, purpose-built learning spaces.

These programs complement classroom learning while supporting the development of communication, teamwork, and independence. Lessons are hands-on and experiential, allowing students to learn through doing, creating, and exploring.

Specialist teachers collaborate closely with classroom teams to ensure learning is inclusive and accessible. Differentiation, visual supports, and structured routines enable all students to participate meaningfully and experience success.

Through Specialist programs, students build confidence, discover interests, and develop practical skills that support wellbeing and lifelong learning.
